One Night in Amoy/ Club Street
Known for its food and food-loving people, Singapore is undoubtedly a "food paradise." With new restaurants and bars popping up like mushrooms, it can be difficult to sniff out the good stuff. Enter Amoy Street, located right in the heart of Singapore's cultural district. Historically known for its opium dens during the Colonial times, Amoy Street has cleaned up its act since then. With a vast selection of new restaurants and bars, it is unsurprising that the street is hugely popular with tourists and locals alike.
Whether you're visiting Singapore for the first time, or you're a local looking for inspiration to spice up your weekend, here is a handy guide to navigate Amoy Street's burgeoning food and drink scene in one night.
Start your night with a hearty bowl from Wanton
If soup and noodles are your thing, this place is for you. The no-frills dining restaurant plays '90s alternative songs and serves up springy wonton noodles with delicious sides. A mere 1 Singapore dollar gets you a piping-hot bowl of al dente wonton noodles. Wanton also offers a spread of sumptuous sides, including roasted pork belly complete with crackling, boiled or fried wontons (as the name suggests) and a healthy dose of greens (because, balance). Another perk is the free-flow soup that comes along with your meal. This rich, salty broth makes for a perfect end to the meal. Affordable comfort food -- what's not to love?

Have your first drink at Native
Grasshoppers? Clarified Cola? Strawberries and kimchi? Yes, yes and yes. These are some of the drinks offered at this young cocktail bar. Native, which prides itself on only using Asian ingredients, is one of the most innovative bars in Singapore, scoring an eighth place in Asia's Top 50 Bars within a year of opening. What it lacks in age, it makes up for in creativity and flavor. Each cocktail is painstakingly researched and prepared, making it original and unique. The grasshoppers add an earthy and complex flavor to the cocktail. It is paired with coconut ice cream, making it an instant crowd pleaser. For the less adventurous, the duo of kimchi with strawberry granita is a refreshing drink that is a well-rounded blend of sweet, spicy and savory. The team is also passionate about their cause. Do not hesitate to strike up a conversation with any team member. Each member will gladly show you their distillery, and share their extensive knowledge of Asian spirits with you. A night at Native will be one that you will remember.

End the night at Jigger and Pony
Sometimes, old is gold: introducing Jigger and Pony, arguably one of the pioneers of Singapore's cocktail scene. It is also home to Diageo World Class champions for three years running! Known for its modern take on classics, this is a good place end your night, as they close at 3 a.m. on weekends. So go ahead and order another martini, Negroni or old fashioned with peace of mind. A tip for big groups is to check out their selection of punch bowls, which serve six to eight and can be yours for less than 300 Singapore dollars. Most punch bowls are topped up with bubbles, making them an excellent way to get the party started (or end one). A fair warning: the free-flow of chips they serve are wildly addictive. Perhaps this is a way to save money on that burger you were thinking of having for supper.
